The Minnesota Chapter of NAIOP honors Michael McElroy as the 22nd recipient of the annual 2007 President’s Award, the chapter’s highest individual recognition. The award is given for outstanding service to NAIOP, the real estate industry, and the greater community.

In his position as executive vice president at Ryan Companies U.S., Inc., McElroy draws upon extensive experience in brokerage, finance, and asset management to lead Ryan’s real estate management group. In addition, he is responsible for company-wide strategic planning efforts and initiatives such as Ryan Funds.

A longtime and active NAIOP member, McElroy has volunteered on and chaired almost all of the chapter’s committees and served as chapter president in 1999. He sat on the sponsorship committee for more than 15 years, including a five-year term as chair. He has served multiple terms on the chapter board, and he’s currently a member of the national board and the industry trends task force. McElroy is a constant contributor to the association’s charitable efforts.

It’s not just NAIOP that benefits from McElroy’s time; he serves on the foundation board as a trustee of Courage Center, an organization helping to enable people with physical disabilities to lead independent lives. He now sits on the board of governors for Opportunity International, an organization that uses microfinance to transform the lives of the working poor. McElroy is also an instructor at the University of St. Thomas and a member of the Benilde-St. Margaret’s Advancement Committee.

With the 2007 President’s Award, NAIOP salutes Mike McElroy for his dedication to the industry, the community, and to NAIOP.
