When Dawn Rozga sets her mind to something, she achieves it. She took the first step towards her goal of a career in banking when she started working as a bank teller in high school. It took her just seven years to be named manager of a TCF National Bank branch in Mankato. She is also pursuing management and accounting degrees from Mankato State University while juggling family and her career.
“I had a good family life but I didn’t come from a very wealthy family,” she says. “My father passed away two years ago and I try to make sure the things I choose to do in my life make my dad and my mom proud. I want them to see they did a good job raising me.”
That they did. Rozga is a leader at work and in the community. She manages a team of tellers and assistant managers, shouldering such responsibilities as hiring new employees, controlling monthly budgets, motivating employees to meet 10 monthly goals, and overseeing bank operations. When a co-worker’s friend was diagnosed with cancer, Rozga wrote a letter requesting that TCF pay for her team’s entry fee to the Mankato Relay for Life, which raises money for cancer research. Not only did TCF grant Rozga’s request, the company ended up sponsoring the event.
After Rozga completes her degree, she plans to earn positions of greater responsibility with TCF Bank, eventually pursuing licensing to sell investments and annuities so that she can assist customers with more complex financial needs. Those who know her don’t doubt for a moment that she will do so.
