Since 1975, Larsen has influenced the design, branding, marketing, and interactive strategy of clients nationwide. His namesake firm, Larsen, with a staff of 45 and offices in Minneapolis and San Francisco, consults with start-ups to Fortune 500s in a range of industries.
Despite his stated desire to “stage-manage a cast of stars rather than lead the show,” Larsen has been featured in national design publications and local business media, and he has won numerous design awards, including the prestigious AIGA Fellow.
Devoted to design education, Larsen chairs the College of Visual Arts board of directors, serves on University of Minnesota's College of Design and Minnesota State University Moorhead design advisory boards, and previously served at University of Wisconsin-Stout. He guided the formation of the state chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design, and was a national board member. Several conferences owe their start to Larsen: AIGA Minnesota Design Camp, CVA Leaders of Design, and Design Intersections.
