Standing at the helm of the largest of the five banks within the national Farm Credit System, York plays a key role in overseeing agricultural lending and business services—including wholesale funding and other lending services—to a 15-state network of farm credit associations.
St. Paul–headquartered AgriBank enjoyed a stronger performance than many other financial firms in the wake of the subprime debt crisis, at least in part because agriculture (till this year, anyway) had been healthier than many other economic sectors.
