Background:
After working as a CPA for RSM McGladrey, Rubald became CFO at Viking Automatic Sprinkler in 1995. He founded Summit Fire Protection in 1999 after losing his job due to corporate restructuring. Installation and maintenance of sprinkler systems constitute Summit’s core business. In 2003, Rubald began to offer fire-safety consulting services for business. Summit now has six offices in Minnesota and Iowa, and has become the second-largest fire sprinkler company in Minnesota.

In His Own Words:
“We are going to continue to grow, continue to expand, to look for other avenues of fire protection—not just sprinkler systems but more life-safety systems, which isn’t only sprinklers but also smoke detectors, alarms, extinguishers, and other systems.”
