Background: After working as a CPA for RSM McGladrey, Rubald
became CFO at Viking Automatic Sprinkler in 1995. He founded Summit Fire
Protection in 1999 after losing his job due to corporate restructuring.
Installation and maintenance of sprinkler systems constitute Summit’s core
business. In 2003, Rubald began to offer fire-safety consulting services for
business. Summit now has six offices in Minnesota and Iowa, and has become the
second-largest fire sprinkler company in Minnesota.
