Adam Nathe draws inspiration from the business people he represents as an attorney at Gray Plant Mooty in Minneapolis, where he practices in the business law transactions and commercial financial services groups.

“They have a lot of energy,” he says, “and they always have ideas that intersect with the law in a lot of interesting places.”

The same could be said of Nathe, who spreads his time among family, career, volunteer work, marathon training, and devouring books.

Nathe grew up in tiny Winsted, Minnesota, and earned his law degree from University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2002.

His main focus in community service is to prepare other minority students to achieve their educational and professional goals, and to become leaders. “I see the growth of the Hispanic community in Minnesota and I want to help any way I can in getting individuals to places where they can become leaders.”

In furtherance of that goal, Nathe co-chaired his firm’s culture and diversity committee, the Minnesota Minority Recruitment Conference, which brought more than 300 minority law students from around the country to interview with 30 local firms. He provides pro bono legal services, and raises money for the Legal Aid Society. In addition, he serves as a mentor at his alma mater, University of St. Thomas.

“I don’t let moss grow under my feet,” says Nathe, “and I like giving back to the community.”
