As CEO of Best Buy, Brad Anderson is
attempting to transform a 140,000-employee enterprise from a “product-centric”
company to one that is “talent-powered and customer-driven.” Anderson says that constant
innovation is required to enhance the quality of customers’ experience and that
the best ideas come from employees who are closest to customers. A lifelong
audiophile, Anderson joined the company in 1973 as a commissioned salesman at
the fledgling Sound of Music. He became the company’s second CEO in 2002,
succeeding founder Richard Schulze.
