Jim Dolan is the CEO of Dolan Media, one of just four Minnesota companies to become publicly traded in 2007. A former investment banker specializing in media companies, Dolan bought Finance & Commerce, a Minneapolis-based publisher of legal notices, in 1992. Since then, Dolan Median has acquired more than two dozen similar publications from which the company aggregates and sells public information.

Career History: Before founding Dolan Media, he was managing director and then executive vice president of the Jordan Group, Inc., a New York-based investment bank specializing in media. He previously held executive positions with Kummerfeld Associates, Inc., a media mergers and acquisitions advisory firm in New York and Chicago; News Corporation in New York and San Antonio; Sun-Times Company in Chicago; and Centel Corp. in Chicago, and also was an award-winning reporter and editor at newspapers in Texas.

Activities: He is currently a director of Advisor Media, Inc., a magazine and conference company; Peoples Educational Holdings, Inc., (NASDAQ: PEDH), an educational materials publisher; GovDelivery, Inc., a software and services provider to governments and large institutions in the United States and the United Kingdom; and The Greenspring Companies, the for-profit arm of Minnesota Public Radio.
