As president and CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, Patrick Geraghty is responsible for the strategy and operations of the state’s largest health plan, providing health coverage to about 2.8 million members—including individuals, members of employee groups of all sizes, and state and federal employees in every Minnesota county. He is a frequent speaker on a range of health care topics with a strong interest in public policy issues in health care and in reducing inefficiency in health care delivery. Blue Cross is a not-for-profit, taxable organization; its affiliates had total premium and premium equivalents in 2007 of nearly $8.4 billion.
