Lexmark has introduced inkjet printers that accept print jobs from computers located anywhere within a Wi-Fi network. The X6570 ($150, lexmark.com) is an all-in-one machine that prints, faxes, copies, and scans. The Z1420 ($80) is strictly a printer.

With the Wi-Fi-equipped Nikon Coolpix S51c digital camera ($330, nikonusa.com), you can transfer shots to a PC without ever making a physical connection. You can also e-mail images directly from the camera, or post pictures to Nikon’s My Picturetown photo-sharing Web site—provided you’re in a wireless hotspot.

Several portable media players take advantage of Wi-Fi. The SanDisk Sansa Connect ($150, sandisk.com) receives Internet radio stations and streams songs from a Yahoo! music subscription service. With the Apple iPod touch ($299–$399, apple.com/ipodtouch), you can buy and download tracks from iTunes. The Archos 605 WiFi ($300–$400, archos.com) lets you wirelessly download purchased movies and other media content. You also can stream media files to it from your PC.
