Digital cameras have revolutionized the way we take photos. Now, an upgrade for the way we display them.
Pacific Digital’s MemoryVue MV800 ($230) looks like a standard picture frame from the front, but the back is equipped with several slots for Flash memory cards—the same kind used in most digital cameras. Insert a card full of stored photos into the frame, and display any image you choose. Pick a new picture every day or set up a continuous slide show. The unit’s 8-inch (diagonal) screen also displays digital video clips.
Built-in stereo speakers and a headphone jack allow you to set your images to music. And an included remote control provides easy access to the frame’s functions when it’s out of reach. There’s no computer or Internet connection required, but the frame uses an AC power cord plugged into a standard wall outlet, so it looks better sitting on a table or desktop than hanging on a wall.
If the MV800’s basic matte and wooden frame don’t suit your décor, Pacific Digital sells alternative sets ($17 each) on its Web site.
