• D’Amico Kitchen promotes “culinary voyeurism” at damico-kitchen.com. With the help of advertising agency Brew and equipment from Alpha Video, the restaurant at the Chambers Hotel is streaming live video from its kitchen nightly. Executive Chef John Occhiato also posts a video blog weekly on the restaurant biz and home cooking.
• Raku plans a March opening at 50th and France in Edina. Jacky Wang, a partner in the metro area’s four Osaka steak houses, owns Raku, and is planning a “fusion-style” restaurant that blends traditional Japanese dishes with French, Italian, and Asian influences.
• Seven, the new incarnation of the former R. Norman’s steak house and 7 Sushi Lounge in the Hennepin Avenue theater district, has come out of banktupcy proceedings with a new ownership structure and new executive chef: Bellanotte’s Amber Severtson, who brings some of her former kitchen’s favorite dishes to the Seven menu.
• The Zagat Survey’s latest rankings name these the top five restaurants in the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro: 1) La Belle Vie, 2) 112 Eatery, 3) Alma, 4) Lucia’s, 5) Vincent.
