A critical success since their 2002 EP Whip It On, their influences are broad and obvious—even their name is a blend of the Ronettes and Buddy Holly’s “Rave On.” However, their sound is unique, melding the tamer, early guitar melodies of pioneering rock ’n’ rollers with New Wave distortion.
