Intriguing works by iconic artists always demand attention, especially if they boast local provenance. New York painter, printmaker, and collaborator Robert Rauschenberg has worked with dancers and musicians. In 1969, he teamed with John Stoller, a curator at Dayton’s Gallery 12, to create a print show titled Currents. Its centerpiece: a large-scale print made from newspaper headlines, images, and articles about New York, Los Angeles, and Minneapolis. But Rauschenberg also produced ancillary prints that the Weisman now owns. They provide a blast from the past.
