Folk guitar legend Gordon Lightfoot became famous in the 1960s while writing songs for Peter, Paul, and Mary. In the 1970s, he emerged as a star in his own right with the hits like “If You Could Read My Mind” and “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.” The latter might only be a hit in states that border Lake Superior, but it’s a darn catchy song. Expect Lightfoot to perform his classics, as well as newer material. 7 p.m., State Theatre, Minneapolis, 612–373–5600, hinnepintheatredistrict.org.
