And so we come to the question: Why is this my last column? Simply because after 16 years it’s time. Change halts for no one, not even a founding publisher. Time’s up for me, but as new voices and new points of view slip into the mix, the years ahead look bright indeed for this magazine and its role in our community.

I hope this column has provided readers of this wonderful magazine with food for thought; that it has dispensed an occasional good idea; that it has been at least a little provocative; that it has been entertaining and useful. If even part of that list results in an affirmative nod from our readers, I will be pleased and satisfied and grateful.
