Despite numerous improvements on Hennepin and in the Warehouse District, there remain pockets of ugliness and underuse. This block is the biggest of those. The first-floor Chevy’s restaurant at the north end is fine, but everything else here is a mess: either empty (the former Teener’s and Musicland buildings) or breathtakingly dreadful (the former Skyway Theater building), or both (the ex-Shinder’s structure at the south end, once a Burger King).

Except for the Chevy’s and Musicland buildings, which need only some fixing up, the rest of this block should be leveled (though perhaps the Teener’s terra cotta façade could be salvaged). Hennepin will never make a full comeback until this block is dealt with.
