Maybe more restaurant owners will take up martial arts after hearing what it did for Pham this summer. Two customers who skipped out on a $410 bill at Temple in downtown Minneapolis were brazen—or ignorant—enough to visit another of Pham’s locations, Azia, the same night. When they fled, former Judo instructor Pham took one of them down in a darkened alley and held him until police arrived. He should have held on longer. After a guilty plea, the thief skipped out on his date at the county workhouse, too.
