The competition here is keen—Northern Tool & Equipment and Gander Mountain being two of the toughest in this category. But we particularly dig this St. Paul maker of work garments and protective gear. Its products aren’t only functional—they have a certain stylishness as well. Case in point is the company’s ProFlex work gloves, which feature gel-filled palms. Rugged yet (almost) metrosexual!
This sense of style permeates Ergodyne’s Web site, which the company redesigned in May with the help of Minneapolis design firm Popular Front. It also contains some wonderful prose. The site notes that “Most days, the job is waiting just around the corner with a 2x4 and XL can of whoop ass.” In these times, these words hit the nail on the head.
