An anonymous donor has given the University of St. Thomas’ Opus College of Business one of the largest gifts in the school's history, the university announced Thursday.
Totaling $50 million, the gift will help fund student research and outside-of-class activities and provide financial support for undergraduate and graduate students. For faculty, the money opens the door to business-related research and endowed professorships. It will also allow the university to pursue more top-notch faculty as the Opus College has already landed notable professors from Duke, Stanford, and Northwestern.
The donation matches other notable gifts to the school including a $50 million gift from Best Buy founder Richard Schulze and his late wife, Sandra, in 2000, as well as a $60 million gift donated by APi Group, Inc. owner Lee Anderson and his wife Penny last autumn.
