Plymouth-based MMIC Technology Solutions is now MMIC Health IT.
Its parent company, Minneapolis-based Midwest Medical Insurance Company, said that the name change is part of its new branding initiative.
“We feel that the name Health IT better represents the consulting, advising, and problem-solving we offer to our customers,” Scott Heimel, vice president at MMIC Health IT, said in a statement.
The company’s new slogan reads, “Protecting and promoting the practice of good medicine.”
MMIC Health IT provides information technology solutions to physicians.
Midwest Medical Insurance Company provides insurance to physicians, clinics, and hospitals in the Upper Midwest.
