Target Corporation on Tuesday announced that it has launched an online store for digital magazines that it says will complement sales of e-readers.
The Minneapolis-based discount retailer partnered with San Francisco-based digital magazine distributor Zinio, LLC, on the private-label, co-branded newsstand Web site (target.zinio.com).
The site sells digital subscriptions, individual issues, and back issues.
Titles offered include Cosmopolitan, Dwell, and Saveur.
“Interest in buying and reading publications digitally is exploding. . . . We are thrilled to extend our portfolio to Target guests,” Zinio President and CEO Rich Maggiotto said in a statement.
Target is Minnesota’s second-largest public company based on revenue, which totaled $64.9 billion for its most recently completed fiscal year.
