The Frey Foundation announced Wednesday that it has donated $5 million to the partnership,
This is the second time that the St. Paul-based foundation has given to the partnership, which works to end homelessness through prevention, outreach, and providing supportive housing.
“We see that the Heading Home approach solves the big problems and has the kind of effect that means our investment is aligned with an effort well positioned to succeed,” Jim Frey, president and CEO, said in a statement.
The funding was given in hopes of expanding and enhancing the availability of supportive housing services and increasing the supply of affordable housing across the state.
The donation also includes funds that will help combat homelessness in communities outside the metro area through the Greater Minnesota Housing Fund.
Like the prior contribution, this $5 million will be distributed over a five year period.
The Frey Foundation of Minnesota was established in 1985 by Eugene and Mary F. Frey. Its mission is to help all community members become self-sufficient, reach their full potential, and become active, engaged members of their communities.
